Before tomorrow's final day of the Tour of Denmark, an individual time trial over 13.6 kilometers was held tonight. With 16:24, Patrick Konrad posted the 8th best time of the day and so he improved to 5th place overall.
Konrad is now ranked in the same time as the fourth best rider, just eleven seconds behind the podium of the tour. A stage over 150 kilometers must be completed tomorrow, before the race ends in the afternoon on the Frederiksberg avenue in the Danish capital Copenhagen.
"Patrick rode a very good time trial. He was very motivated with the prospect of making up a few places in the GC. The course was not too demanding. On the way to the intermediate point there was some headwind, then a tailwind. Patrick found a great rhythm and he already posted a very good intermediate time. With the result, we can be very satisfied, even if it just hurts that we have missed the fourth place in the GC by only two-tenths of a second. Kudos also to the performance of the other guys. With Christoph [Pfingsten] and Gregor [Mühlberger], two other riders are among the fastest 25", Sports Director Steffen Radochla comments on the time trial.
