Christopher Juul-Jensen played a key role in the GP Plouay when the Dane joined a 7-rider break that was caught just 4km from the line. Despite coming away empty-handed, the Dane was pleased with his condition as he goes into the Tour of Britan.

Christopher Juul-Jensen got close to his first WorldTour points when he was part of a very strong 7-rider breakaway in the finale of the GP Plouay. The ground had a 30-seconds advantage with less than 10km to go but a lack of cooperation and several attacks spelled the end for the break.

The performance again underlined that Juul-Jensen is now able to play a key role deep into the finale of the WorldTour races and made the Dane pleased with his showing.

“The plan was to stay in the front in the finale to seek the opportunities at hand and when the right constellation of riders leaped up the road, I decided to follow," he said. "We worked brilliantly together for a long time but we just didn’t make it to the finish line. However, it’s great to be out there forming the race and playing an active part of the finale and it only confirms my good form before the Tour of Britain next week."
