Bob Jungels was expected to feature in all three events held during the upcoming World Championships in Ponferrada as a part of Trek Factory Racing and Luxemburg national team, but the 21-year old rider was forced to withdraw his participation due to health problems.
Jungels suffered from a saddle sore during his recent appearance at the Vuelta a Espana, what eventually forced the young Luxembourger to abandon the race after its 18 stage. Hoping to recover from troubling health problems on time, the 21-year old Trek rider was due to feature in the team time trial, individual time trial and road race at World Championships.
It turned out, however, that Jungels hasn’t managed to recover on time and he was forced to withdraw from all three events, about what he has informed via his Twitter account yesterday.
“Frustrating - but I won't be at #Ponferrada2014.Recovery doesn't proceed fast enough, so no TTT with @TrekFactory or TT&RR with #Luxembourg,” Jungels wrote.
