Defending champion Gert Joeaar (Cofidis) fully lived up to expectations in the Estonian time trial championships where he defended his title in dominant fashion. The only pro rider at the start beat Silver Mäoma by 1.19 while Timmo Jeret was 2.43 behind in third.
Joeaar has established himself as the leading Estonian time triallist after winning the prologue in the 2014 Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen and so he was always the man to beat on the 38.8km course in Vändra. In the past few years, the championships have been dominated by the duo of Tanel Kangert and Rein Taaramae who won the title three times each from 2008 to 2013 before Joeaar benefited from their absence to take the crown.
Joeaar will be back in action in Sunday's road race. He hasn't been selected for the Tour de France.
