It was a solid performance by Nicola Ruffoni in the one-day race GP De Denain which was held today in the northeast of France.
Bardiani – CSF’s sprinter finished 7th at the end of high-speed bunch sprint and after a long work in the front of the peloton by the whole Greenteam which was one of most active squads to lead the pack. The victory was taken by French sprinter Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis) who repeated last year success, be relegatig Vallée (Lotto – Soudal) and Barbier (Roubaix) to the minor podium positions.
”This morning I asked the guys to give a reaction after the negative De Brabantse Pijl yesterday," manager Roberto Reverberi said. "For this reason all team was in front of the peloton during most part of the race. In the finale, Nicola Ruffoni sprinted pretty well, I guess he lost some energy when he was too much in the wind in the last kilometre because a top-5 could be in his legs. Now we turn the page and we start to focus on Sunday's Amstel Gold Race, a really important event for all our team."
