In the summer of 2014, Adam Yates wrote the last page of the long history of the GP Industria & Artigianato Larciano that will celebrate the 39th edition on March 6. The Brit will be back in 2016.
His team Orica GreenEDGE have been added to what looks like a very good line-up for the race. Astana is another WorldTour team that has already confirmed its participation and they will go into the race with Il Lombardia champion and winner of the 2014 Tour de France Vincenzo Nibali. It will be an opportunity for the Italian champion to race on the roads he used for training as a young rider. Vincenzo Nibali has already managed to win the race, in the 2007 edition when he reached the finish alongside then-teammate Franco Pellizotti.
The contacts made by the organizers suggest that the two teams of the highest level will be joined by others. Most likely, the Italian national team will also be present.
The Italian race has had different dates in the past. It was cancelled in 2015 and in 2015 it took place it July.
