For the second day in a row, Federico Zurlo found himself in the breakaway in the Tour of Turkey but after he was beaten in the Turkish Beauty Sprint, he lost the white jersey to Lluis Mas.
“I made a mistake at the start of the stage, letting Lluis Mas, my rival for the white jersey, get away. I didn’t realise that he was on my wheel, and then he attacked. But I started the chase quickly, and caught the three attackers, Otherwise it would have been a long and exhausting pursuit. In the Turkey Beauty Sprint (at km 54), he got ahead of me and I couldn’t get past him. Yesterday I won it, today it was his turn. Now, I just hope that the fight for the Beauties of Turkey competition will be between the two of us," Zurlo said.
