CCC Sprandi Polkowice riders have another Belgian test ahead of them – this time at the HC race, Brussels Cycling Classic.
This event is held on the roads surrounding Brussels, with the start in the center and the finish in the northwest part of the city. There are 13 typical Belgian climbs, called Les Cotes, on the menu, but despite the undulating terrain and 200 kilometers to cover the sprinters should play the roles of the favorites. In the previous years the race ended with a bunch gallop and was won by such riders as Andre Greipel, Tom Boonen, Robbie McEwen and Matthew Goss.
The Orange squad will try to thwart the sprinters and be aggressive. Maciej Paterski should be looking for his opportunities in the finale. He has shown good form few days ago, finishing 6th in the UCI World Tour Bretagne Classic – Ouest-France and now he is expected to ride near the frpmt of the bunch and launch attacks when a possibility occurs.
The other riders of Polkowice-based team will also approach the race with an offensive mindset. There are two espoirs in the lineup – Patryk Stosz and Michał Paluta – the slightly older Jakub Kaczmarek, as well as the more experienced Jarosław Marycz, Bartłomiej Matysiak, Tomasz Kiendyś and Mateusz Taciak.
In this year’s edition 8 UCI World Tour squads have announced their participation. In total there will be 23 teams taking part.
