Already the final rider to survive from the early break in Coppa Agostoni, Gianfranco Zilioli (Androni) confirmed his form and status as one of the biggest Italian talents by finishing sixth in the high-calibre break at Coppa Bernocchi.
"Surely I missed the pace as I made a comeback after almost two months without racing. This has made a difference because I saw that I was fine on the climbs but missed speed on the flats. Little by little I'm getting better and I will try to do well in the next appointments," he told Cyclingpro.net.
" I'm happy because I did not think that I would get into the top 10. I saw the opportunity to go on the attack and I tried. I was with the best and are happy with that .
"I have red-circled Milan - Turin. I was fine on the Superga climb at Nationals and so I want to try again. Surely this time there will be much more quality but I was already there at Nationals and hope to be there again."
