"The main goal was to score points for the Coupe de France. The other riders have an advantage in certain races and this forces me to stay focused on all races, to be active and to me motivated at every event."

With a fourth place in the Boucles de l'Aulne, Pierrick Fedrigo (Bretagne) strengthened his lead in the Coupe de France  one day after he had finished third in the GP de Plumelec.

Dominated by Auber 93 who took a 1-2, the 11th round of the series allowed the Breatgne leader to score more points than his two main rivals, Nacer Bouhanni  who finished 12th and Baptiste Planckaert who was 5th.

"With Florian Vachon and me in the break, we tried to go for the win. It did not work out and we are disappointed. Also yesterday in Plumelec we were close," Fedrigo said. "The main goal was to score points for the Coupe de France. The other riders have an advantage in certain races and this forces me to stay focused on all races, to be active and to me motivated at every event. It has made my spring season structured and I have returned to a very good level thanks to this challenge after two difficult seasons."

Topping the Coupe de France with five races left, he does not want to make medium-term plans.

"There are races in June and the Tour de France before the series starts again in August," he said . "I will be back. I enjoy the satisfactions, for example the pleasure of going for the win two days in a row, in Plumelec and here."

When comparing the two races in the Breton weekend, he admits that he prefers the race in Plumelec.

"Plumelec is probably best for me," he said. "It is more selective than it is here in Châteaulin where we expected that it would be decided in a sprint. But I had to take a break of three weeks and am back from a five-day camp on the great Alpine passes. I lacked a little freshness in these two races.

"I like the behaviour of the team. The guys are motivated and we want to keep this dynamic. Frankly, a lot of teams would love to be in our place."
