Though May 1st still represents the Labor Day holiday for most Europeans, IAM Cycling will not be looking for a day of rest.  In addition to having eight riders fighting for position at the Tour of Romandie, seven additional IAM Cycling members will be trying their luck on a course around Frankfurt. 

 

Roger Kluge, coming off a well-deserved rest after a strong classics campaign, will be back on center stage.  The 28 year old German spoke about the difficulties of the race and his up-coming goals. 

 

“The GP de Francfort, or the Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt as the Germans say, is strictly speaking not a course that suits me well.  There are climbs that will likely cause an elite selection as the group readies for the last lap of the circuit. 

 

"But I am ready to get back to work.  After Paris-Roubaix, I took five days off.  Then I trained hard so that I could make a good return in Frankfurt. 

 

"My goal for the season now is to be selected for the Tour de France squad.  So I must score points in the eyes of my directors to attain that goal.  After Frankfurt, I will have the opportunity to show my form at the 4 Days of Dunkirk, the World Tour Classic and the Tour of Bavaria.  But I will first try and find the right rhythm on Thursday in Frankfurt.”
