Even though it certainly has been a huge objective to participate in the Tour de France during career’s final season for Sebastien Hinault, according to French media the 40-year old IAM Cycling rider will be deprived such opportunity by his Swiss squad.
I would be his twelfth participation in the biggest cycling event held on the home soil, but according to letelegramme.fr Hinault will not ride his final Tour de France this year as the IAM Cycling management have informed him this week.
Apart from his eleven Tour de France participations, the 40-year old Frenchman rode the Giro d’Italia two times and appeared in three editions of the Vuelta, with his career’s biggest achievements being a victory in the Tour du limousine general classification and a stage claimed in the Spanish grand tour during his best 2008 season.
