Despite Vicente Reynes and Dominic Klemme being out due to illness, IAM are travelling to the Breton gravel roads with big ambitions. The Swiss team will be led by Sebastien Hinault in the race that is known as the Breton version of Paris-Roubaix.

In addition to the World Tour Amstel Gold Race this Sunday, IAM Cycling will be lining up at the famously “ribinoùs” course of the Tro Bro Léon.  Despite the illness and withdrawal of both Dominic Klemme and Vicente Reynes, the directeur sportif Eddy Seigneur promises that his team has the means to influence the race. 

“Surprisingly, I never raced this course during my professional career.  It is a special event that makes use of more than 25 unpaved or minimally paved sections called ribins.  In fact, the small gravelly roads can become very slippery when the weather is bad.  In Brittany, this is their version of Paris-Roubaix. 

"We will make a reconnaissance of the majority of the sectors on Saturday. And I have a big hope for one of our most youthful riders, namely Sébastien Hinault.  At 40 years young, he still packs the punch to play for the win in a race like this. 

"His experience will be important since knowing how to position yourself is essential in races like these with small technical roads.  But we also have other assets that we can look to depending on how the race unfolds.  IAM Cycling has a collective strength, which we have demonstrated well since the beginning of the year.”
