Andrei Grivko will stay with Astana in 2017. The Ukrainian confirmed hi decision in an interview with XSport.
"I had talks with several teams, including the newly formed Bahrain-Merida, but I have very good relations with Astana, and we decided to extend the contract," said the Ukrainian rider who has been in the Kazakh team since 2010.
Grivko began the year by winning a stage and the overall of the Tour of the Mediterranean. For most of the year, he worked for the team and its leaders. In 2017 he hopes to ride more for himself:
"I'll get some freedom in the spring classics and will fight for a good result for myself, for example, in the Strade Bianche," explained the 33-year-old who wants to compete until 2020 and the Tokyo Olympics.
