Ag2r finished 4th in the team time trial at the Giro del Trentino. The French team only lost seven seconds to winners Bora-Argon 18.
After the first day where the team held an average speed of 56.197km/h, sports director Laurent Biondi is delighted:
"This is our best team time trial ever. We are now in a perfect position compared to other big teams as we go into two big days in the mountains.The cohesion of the team was very good."
Ag2r have travelled to Italy with a formidable line-up that includes former winner Domenico Pozzovivo, Romain Bardet and Jean-Christophe Peraud.
Tomorrow, the riders face 168km between Arco and Brentonico, including a Hors Category category climb and a summit finish on a category 2 ascent.
