Alexis Gougeard (Ag2r) got one step closer to the overall win in the Tour de l'Eurometropole when he finished with the bunch to retain his 3-second lead over Martijn Keizer after the penultimate stage.
"I had a good day overall. In the early part, Lotto-Soudal did not allow anyone to get clear because they wantedthe bonuses. Jurgen Roelandts gained three seconds on me. He is now 11 seconds behind. I will have to keep an eye on him tomorrow," he told Directvelo.
"As I said earlier, I have not won yet and tomorrow I will have to fight to keep this jersey. I still have the advantage at the moment, but with the game of bonuses, I can still lose everything."
