Having been one of the protagonists throughout the entire race, Jose Goncalves underlined his good form by finishing 18th in the Vuelta a Espana time trial.
"I felt good," he said. "I tried to do my best and I'm happy. It was a nice time trial with a technical part in the end, where I lost some time because I did not do a course recon. Now there are four stages and I will chase a stage victory to see if I am lucky. There are two days that can favor me."
Caja Rural still have the mountains jersey with Omar Fraile while David Arroyo is 19th overall.
