Bardiani-CSF will return to racing on Italian roads on Sunday for Trofeo Matteotti, a 188km road race with start and finish in Pescara on the Adriatic coast. After the great performance at Tour of Austria, Bardiani CSF will fight for a new top result.
The roster, led by experienced director Bruno Reverberi, will be composed of eight athletes. Home rider Giulio Ciccone will be one of the key riders for the Bardiani team. Two months after his experience at Giro d’Italia which ended on stage 19 due to gastrointestinal problem, the young talent is ready to start the second part of his season.
Together with Ciccone, five riders coming from Tour of Austria will be at Trofeo Matteotti - stage 5 winner Simone Sterbini, Stefano Pirazzi, Manuel Bongiorno, Luca Chirico and Edoardo Zardini, whose progress is going well after his bad injury. Simone Andreetta, who also returns to racing after the Giro d’Italia, and Simone Velasco will complete the roster.
