Robert Gesink has recovered remarkably quickly. Barely a month after it looked like his career was over, he is making ambitious plans for the rest of 2014.
Gesink rides on June 29 the National Road Championships in Ootmarsum and he confirmed to the NOS that he would ride the Vuelta a España. He also does not rule out the Tour de France.
Monday will see Gesink go to Sierra Nevada for a training camp. Bauke Mollema will join up later once he has finished the Tour of Norway.
Good Treatment
On May 7, Belkin said that the treatments Gesink underwent had successfully got rid of his arrhythmia. The 27 year old himself said that he is expected to recover to about 95% of his previous condition, which is an awful lot considering the severity of the arrhythmia and the operations he underwent.
