Alexandre Geniez (FDJ) limited the damage on the 8th stage of the Giro d'Italia . He finished 23rd 1.55 behind winner Benat Intxausti and 1.20 behind the Alberto Contador group. He is now 18th overall
"I'm satisfied with my race," he told BeIN sport. "The team was great, the guys positioned me perfectly at the bottom. I held on, I knew they would accelerate but it was useless to go into the red to explode. I did not lost a lot of time and I'm realistic about my level. I fight with those I believe are my opponents in the GC. I do my best."
