Gazprom-Rusvelo was the surprise inclusion in the field for the Giro d'Italia. The team is current preparing intensively for their grand tour debut on the Mount Etna volcano.

Eight riders are currently at the camp: Sergei Firsanov, Alexander Foliforov, Ildar Arslanov, Alexander Serov, Aleksandr Yevtushenko, Alex Ribalkin Ivan Savitsky, and Roman Maykin.

Alexander Foliforov said:

"The team is geared toward a challenge more than ever. Everyone is working diligently, monitoring their condition. We all understand that the Giro will be a great test for our team, and it's necessary to approach these trainings in the midlands very seriously. In general, we're in a fighting spirit! I think that we will succeed!

"I want to tell our fans that we can see and feel your support. And it helps us a lot! In turn, we will make every effort not to disappoint you!"

Roman Maykin added:

"We're taking part in the Grand Tour for the first time. Of course, a fully developed strategy in all its nuances has been prepared for the Giro.

There's nothing to gain from the Giro without a set attitude and motivation, so the team spirit is competitive and energetic. We're doing a lot of special, targeted work. We're all very united because we understand what we are here for and why.

"I would like to express my thanks for the fans for supporting and believing in us, in our team. Often in the most difficult moments it is the fans and fan clubs that give us strength through their positive energy. Watch us, cheer for us, and participate in the sport!"
