A brilliant Oscar Gatto finished 6th at Strade Bianche. Against opponents of the highest level, the Androni - Venezuela rider delivered a great performance despite being in a poor position at the start of the crucial section of the Monte Sante Marie.
"On the Sante Marie gravel sector, I missed a bit," he told Spaziociclismo. "Maybe this was due to the fact that my form is not at its best and I couldn't keep up with the strongest. But I am very satisfied because I was in the final with the group behind. I recovered and this is a good result which gives morale, also for the team."
Back from a troubled start to the season where he broke a rib in Argentina and the had a cold, Gatto showed that his condition is growing and he hopes it bodes well for upcoming races.
