John Gadret has not officially announced the end of his career which started in 2004. However, at 36 years of age, the rider who finished third in the 2011 Giro d'Italia, still has not found an employer for next season.
The Frenchman who spent the last two years at the Spanish Movistar team, was hoping to bounce join Fortuneo-Vital Concept (the current Bretagne team) but the team preferred to sign Francis Mourey (FDJ), according to a report in L'Equipe.
If he fails to find a team, Gadret could still extend his career to participate in the next French cyclo-cross championships in Besançon on January 10. He won the title in 2004 and 2006.
