The cycling world suffered another tragedy on Saturday. Etienne Fabre, a rider from the Chambery Cycling Team, died yesterday after an accident, DirectVélo reports. The 20-year-old talent fell fatally on the frozen snow during a hike in the Bauges in Savoy. It is another tragic loss for the French amateur squad whose rider Romain Guyot died in March.
Having been with the Chambery Cycling Team, Etienne Fabre was a real rising star in France. Thanks to his success in the Tour du Charolais and the Circuit des 4 Cantons, and a second place in the Grand Prix de Nogent-sur-Oise this season, he got a chance to ride for Ag2r as a stagiaire. He obtained a 30th place at the Tour de Vendée.
