La Tropicale Amissa Bongo is traditionally one of the first professional races of the season but next season the biggest stage race in Africa will begin one month later than usual. That was announced by the organizers on Wednesday.
The Gabonese race must give way to the African Nations Cup football tournament which also takes place in January next year and will be held in the same country. The two events cannot be organized at the same time, forcing La Tropicale Amissa Bongo to be postponed by a month. The race will start on February 27 and end on March 5.
This season, Adrien Petit of Direct Energie won the race. He beat Andrea Palini (Skydive Dubai) by six seconds.
