It has been a great year of stage racing in Europe and now there is only a few days left of the action. As per tradition, the Belgian Tour de l'Eurometropole is the final European stage race and the scene is set for a thrilling finale in the hilly final stage. On Sunday at 12.45 CEST, you can follow the finale on CyclingQuotes.com/live.
The Tour de l'Eurometropole always comes down to a matter of seconds and this year it will be no different. Ahead of the penultimate stage, Alexis Gougeard leads Martijn Keizer by just 3 seconds and with bonus seconds on offer, the scene is set for a big battle in the final stage. It ends with seven laps of the well-known finishing circuit that includes the short, steep Croix Jubaru climb and the intermediate sprints are located at the top on the final three laps. Hence, there will be plenty of opportunities for Keizer to try to take back time while strong sprinters like Jens Debusschere, Jonas Van Genechten and Tom Van Asbroeck hope to survive the climb and play their card in a potential reduced bunch sprint.
