A week after winning Cholet-Pays de Loire, Pierrick Fedrigo, 36, confirmed his return to the forefront by taking 2nd place in the queen stage of the Critérium International at the top of the Col de l'Ospedale in southern Corsica.

In the overall standings, Pierrick Fedrigo, winner of the race in 2010 and 2nd in 2012, finished in 4th place behind Jean-Christophe Péraud and Thibaut Pinot. He was only milliseconds from Fabio Felline's 3rd place after the time trial in which Fedrigo had finished 10th

"I was aiming for the stage win on top of the Ospedale and thought Pinot would be able to return to Péraud afterthe latter had attacked 6 kilometers from the summit. I was maybe a little tired and I did not have the power to attack before the summit. I had a little trouble at following the attacks early in the climb. I prefer a more regular pace.

"I was at least as good as last Sunday in Cholet. But here at the Criterium International, it was another level. Péraud, Pinot, the podium of the Tour de France, and I was in the fight with both of them. It's good for the future. I had planned to be at that level by the end of March. It gives me confidence after two years without winning. If I'm disappointed, it's mostly for the whole Bretagne Séché Environnement team. All the guys have done a remarkable job for two days. I wanted to thank them with a stage victory."

"The return of Pierrick Fedrigo to the forefront is a great satisfaction," manager Emanuel Hubert said. "But there was no mistake, that's why he was at the front to fight against the best. We had a beautiful weekend in Corsica which showedthe progress of our team. All the boys rallied around Pierrick. Romain Feillu is in beautiful condition. And Anthony Delaplavce simply did a great time trial. He fought like a dog to take a fine 6th place. We are in a good momentum."
