Today Kevin Pauwels added the fourth round of the Would Cup held on a circuit around the Citadel of Namur to his palmares. "So far everything works out well," the leader of Sunweb-Napoleon Games told Het Nieuwsblad. "My season can no longer go wrong."

At the team presentation of Sunweb Napoleon Games, Kevin Pauwels remained modest. "I will be happy if I can win five times this season," he said. "It is not because Niels Albert has stopped that the victories are suddenly up for grabs. There is also a strong new young generation."

After victories in Zonhoven, Francorchamps, Milton Keynes, Hasselt and now in Namur, he now has those five victories. "That's fine, of course," said Pauwels. "However, I didn't feel so good at the beginning of the race, but in the end I managed to win so I cannot have been too bad."

Pauwels took a cautious start. "I know from experience that this is a tough race," he said. "Many riders may crack after a fast start, so I took it easy."

Gradually he moved forward and in the final lap he made the difference. "Before that I had a small gap ," he said. "I did well in that bevel and took some lengths on Lars van der Haar. I never lost that lead again."

Pauwels now leads the World Cup with an advantage of 77 points over Tom Meeusen. "And with Heusden-Zolder and Hoogerheide, we have another two races that suit me. Things are looking good with regards to my lead."
