"It’s a dynamic presentation in which the team and the bikes are the stars. Also, the public is really close to the track. It’s wonderful to feel the warmth and cheers coming from the crowd.”

In 2016 Etixx - Quick-Step Cycling Team will once again present itself to the sponsors and fans with an event absolutely not to be missed. It will all take place on Tuesday, January 12th, against the splendid backdrop of the Eddy Merckx Vlaams Wielercentrum in Gent (Belgium).

Most riders of the team will be attending, except the ones who are already in Australia for the Tour Down Under, Niki Terpstra – who races the Six Days of Rotterdam – and the South Americans Richeze, Gaviria and Contreras. During the event, our athletes will challenge each other in a series of races on the track.

Furthermore, in between one race and the other, riders will be mingling with guests and everyone attending the event.

The evening is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

Etixx - Quick-Step has always been dedicated to its fan base, and it will give its supporters the chance to attend the event by reserving 500 seats in the grandstand just for them. The last tickets are available on the team’s website.

During the event there will be a live performance of the singer Olivier Laurent.

The event will wrap up with an after party featuring live music provided by DJ Tom.

“For us riders this event is really special,” said Tom Boonen. “We like the idea of presenting ourselves to our sponsors, to their clients and to our fans with a reunion on the track, on our bikes. It’s a dynamic presentation in which the team and the bikes are the stars. Also, the public is really close to the track. It’s wonderful to feel the warmth and cheers coming from the crowd.”

“In the team we’ve already been talking about it for the last few days,” said Iljo Keisse, who knows a thing or two about track racing. “The newcomers to the team will be surprised by the cheers and the experience of the attending public. It’s going to be a lot of fun, as it has been in the last several years. I’m looking forward to dedicating a few “wheelies” to our guests” concluded Keisse.

“For our partners this will be an important PR moment, a sort of season kick off in which our partners and their clients can see us live before we get completely caught up with the races” Team CEO Patrick Lefevere said. “For us it is also a way to thank them for their support throughout the season. Of course, it’s also a great opportunity for our supporters, at least for those who live in Belgium or nearby. For all the others there will be some fantastic photos and a video review of the event, which will be released in the days following the presentation and in which they will be able to relive the magical atmosphere of this event.”
