After losing Nacer Bouhanni, Cofidis had to ride offensively in the Tour de France. Nicolas Edet was the main protagonist as he has been in most of the breaks and today he was again part of the action in the stage to Alpe d'Huez.
"I was caught by the Pinot group in the valley but once the ascent of the Alpe started, I was not concerned about the favorites and I climbed at my pace," he said. "It was a really complicated start to the Tour. The big crash in stage 3 did me much harm. Then we had to change our goals. I tried, I am getting better legs, but we have come to the end of the Tour. We suffered a big blow with the abandonment of Nacer. We were able to recover. Our only chance to have results was to join the breakaways. That's what we tried to do even if the victory did never come."
