Eddy Ratti, a former Mapei team rider, was shut out in a doping case. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, he tested positive for EPO in January 2010. Licensed by De Rosa-Stac Plastic, he was then suspended for two years by the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and ordered to pay a fine of 8,000 euros. In 2012, he had appealed the decision, citing a lack of evidence.
Throughout his career, Ratti won 10 races. His biggest success was winning the Tre Valli Varesine just ahead Danilo Di Luca, in 2008.
