Samuel Dumoulin finished the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe with a 3rd place on the last stage. His Ag2r teammate Jan Bakelants finished 7th overall.
"We arrived with a small team of five riders and yet we managed to do well," Samuel Dumoulin said after his third place. "We made sure that Jan (Bakelants) got a time bonus. Then I tried to play my card, especially with the help of Patrick Gretsch. Bouhanni was stronger than me, there is nothing to say."
Road captain Dumoulin takes stock of the week.
"Quentin (Jauregui) was not very far from victory on the second day. Jan finished the race in 7th. The results are satisfactory even if we lack a victory. I now hope that this event will serve as a springboard for Sebastian (Turgot) for Sunday's Paris-Roubaix, for Jan in view of the Ardennes and Patrick for the Giro."
Dumoulin will next line up at the GP Denain on Thursday.
