After giving good signs at Giro del Trentino Melinda - concluded with Fabio Duarte’s third place in the last stage and Rodolfo Torres' success in the KOM classification – Team Colombia-Coldeportes’ athletes will face another climbers’ challenge at the Vuelta a Asturias (May 2nd-3rd).
In the first stage, Claudio Corti’s riders will face twice the Alto de la Cobertoria, a demanding climb the Escarabajos will cope with also in Vuelta a Espana stage 16, whilst the second stage, characterized by 5 categorized climbs, will arguably be decided on Alto de Violeo’s uphill, with 7 Km to go.
Guided by Sports Director Oliverio Rincon an 8-man line-up will take the start in Oviedo. Rodolfo Torres – who recovered from a bad tumble in last Sunday’s Giro dell’Appennino - and Fabio Duarte – runner-up in Asturias back in 2010 – will look for the success the team grazed several times lately, as well as for a good overall placement, supported by Miguel Angel Rubiano, Darwin Pantoja, Cayetano Sarmiento, Walter Pedraza, Camilo Castiblancoand Brayan Ramirez.
