24 hours after getting beaten by rival French sprinter Bryan Coquard, Arnaud Demare (FDJ) was back in his usual winning role when he merged as the strongest in the second stage of the Tour de Picardie. In the final bunch sprint he beat Ramon Sinkeldam (Giant-Shimano) and Rudy Barbier (Roubaix Lille Metropole) to take both the stage win and the leader's jersey with just one flat stage remaining.
