Pierpaolo De Negri, one of the symbols of the Nippo Vini Fantini project, won the 2nd stage of Tour of Slovenia with a perfect sprint. The team celebrates this success and insists that "this is a starting point" as sports director Stefano Giuliani says.

The team took its first victory in Europe and did so with a determinated rider like Pierpaolo De Negri, who was one of the most important athletes of the team in 2014 in the continental category.

A group of sixty men were in front of the race, including six Nippo Vini Fantini riders. Pierpaolo De Negri was in great shape. He talked to his teammates, he moved in the group, he controlled the attacks.

“We consider this a starting point,” explains Stefano Giuliani who is very happy with the success of an athlete who has worked with him for four years. “Pierpaolo has always been good in these finishes. Today he controlled and moved well, he spoke with his teammates and pointed straight to the goal. In the team the result is not a big issue, it is the result of the desire to ride, have fun and do our job well, that is the passion of all of us who work in this sector. I'm happy with  the signal, the team and the rider: now we want to have a good summer".

“I’m very happy iwht this victory, I’m happy for me and for the team, that helped me to obtain this one. Giuliani and Manzoni believe in me, like the sponsor and ,anagement. Nippo Vini Fantini is like a family for me. At the Giro d’Italia I couldn’t be a protagonist, today I got my revenge. Every day I try to improve, I knew that after Giro I could have been better,” De Negri said.
