The fourth stage in the Giro d’Italia takes the riders from Catanzaro to Praia a Mare. The 200 kilometres long course contains two climbs of the third category. Will the sprinters get another opportunity? Or will there be attempts in the final hilly kilometres?
Sean De Bie already looks forward to the stage.
“I didn’t know what to expect before the first Grand Tour of my career," he said. "Am I able to start with good shape? How will my body react to these three weeks of racing? I have a good feeling after the stages in the Netherlands and that makes me happy. Yesterday, I was the lead-out for André Greipel due to circumstances but everything turned out well. That performance really gave a boost to my self-confidence.
"The atmosphere in the Netherlands was just incredible, although I can’t compare it with other Grand Tours. We’ve been in Italy since yesterday and a stage with several possible outcomes awaits. Today’s stage can end in a bunch sprint, also a late attempt can lead to the victory but it’s also possible that the break stays in front. I’m ready to roll!”
