Todays 217,4 km stage from Edinburgh to Blyth in the Tour of Britain ended in a sprint battle between Lotto-Soudal and Etixx-QuickStep.
Cult sports Director Luke Roberts comments:
“Today was once again a very long, but good day. It took quite some time before the first breakaway went away with 6 riders. Michael Carbel was part of this breakway. Team Movistar kept them very close to the peloton and the group never gained more than a maximum of 3 minutes. The group was eventually caught and the stage ended in a bunch sprint."
Rasmus Guldhammer was at the front in the final kilometer and was kept safe. He maintained his top 10 in GC and feels ready for tomorrow's queen stage.
