RCS Sport made its choice and gave one of the Wild Cards to NIPPO Vini Fantini De Rosa for the next edition of the Giro d’Italia.
The invitation is already a great reward for the team that has been set up through a special partnership between Japan and Italy and that has young talents but also an excellent leader, Damiano Cunego.
The invitation that crowns the first season at the pro level for the team which rides under the “Dream, Believe, Climb Your Blue Mountain” banner.
“ We are proud and happy to be part of this great event. We have to thank RCS that has trusted us and gave this big opportunity," declares Francesco Pelosi, NIPPO Vini Fantini General Manager . "We are sure that we will live up yo the standard of the race, bringing our dynamism and a team that will animate the competition thanks to its passion for the cycling world, without being only focused on results."
Main Sponsor Vini Fantini agrees with this statement: “We strongly thank RCS for having invited us, believing in our team. As an italian team, it was fundamental for us to participate in the most important event of the WorldTour calendar”.
The team also received an invitation for Il Lombardia which Cunego has won three times.
“Thanks to RCS for the trust they have shown us," Cunego said. "The Giro d’Italia is the race, where I was born, grown and was discovered. I will do my best and I want to give something to remember for all the fans of the Pink Race, without forgetting the Lombardia race where I will return motivated and determined to win”.
