It is still uncertain whether the Critérium International will be held in 2017. The two-day French stage race will not take place in Corsica, the municipality of Porto-Vecchio have told Directvelo.
Since 2010, the Critérium International has been organized on the island of Corsica. Traditionally, there have been a short road stage and a time trial on Saturday and a mountain stage on Sunday.
Now the race will no longer take place in Corsica and organizers ASO need to find a new location. The Amaury Sport Organization would not comment on the topic, but according to Directvelo hoped that another region is ready to step. The race could even be held outside France.
The stage race, which was won by Thibaut Pinot in 2016, is scheduled for March 25-26, 2017.
