The Portuguese National Team Coach, José Poeira, has announced his long list for the Road World Championships, which take place in Richmond, USA.
José Poeira has selected five riders: André Cardoso (Cannondale-Garmin), José Gonçalves (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), José Mendes (Bora-Argon 18), Nelson Oliveira and Rui Costa (Lampre-Merida). Three of them will participate in the road race and one or two of them will participate in the individual time trial.
Four portuguese riders will be in the U23 road race. The U23 long list has six riders: César Martingil and Luís Gomes (Liberty Seguros/Carglass), João Rodrigues (Team Tavira), Nuno Bico (Rádio Popular-Boavista), Rúben Guerreiro (Axeon) and Rui Carvalho (Anicolor).
Daniela Reis (DN17 Poitou Charentes) will be the only Portuguese representative in the women’s road race.
