Bryan Coquard has decided not to line up at the omnium at the track world championships that will take place in his native France. Instead, the Europcar sprinter will focus on the scratch and points races and the madison.
Even though he was a silver medalist in the omnium at the 2012 London Olympics, Bryan Coquard has decided to skip the event at the next track world championships that will be held in the French city of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines from February 18 to 23.
"I don't feel that I will be able to preapre well for the omnium," he told the 20minutes newspaper. "As opposed to thus, the scratch race, the points race and the madison could be of interest."
As the scratch and points races are both part of the omnium, Coquard knows how to handle both disciplines. In the madison, he will line up alongside Thomas Boudat who will be riding for Europcar in 2015.
