According to Cyclingnews, UCI President Brian Cookson has left the UCI headquarters in Aigle, Switzerland, t meet Tour de France general director Christian Prudhomme at the Tour Down Under and talk about the UCI reforms. He hopes to end the power struggle with the French race organizer Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) who are against this reform and late Decembe threatened to register all its WorldTour races on the Europe Tour calendar for 2017.
Thereform will be introduced in 2017 after two years of meetings and an apparent agreement that was approved by the UCI congress in September. But the French race organizers are strongly opposed to the ideas of giving teams and races an automatic three-year licence
