Like in the previous stages, the continental riders again animated stage 3 of the Tour du Limousin. Clement Saint-Martin (La Pomme Marseille) was in the successful break and finished 9th.
"The goal today was to score bonuses to move up a little since we were 30 riders in the same time," he told Directvelo. "I tried, and I was lucky to find myself in the break. It was a big battle as it took almost an hour. I managed to score two seconds. We worked well together in the finale. So it was possible to decide to win, but I was dead in the end.
"This is my first race since I had a toxoplasmosis in the months of June-July. I'm happy to be good in my comeback, it will give me confidence. There is still tomorrow to hope for a good place overall, I will do my best."
Baptiste Planckaert (Roubaix) defended the sprints jersey.
"I tried several times earlier in the stage to join the break," he told Directvelo. "But the good shot left without me but it did not matter because we had Julien (Antomarchi) there. I stayed in the peloton, I had sore legs in the last forty kilometers because of yesterday. I think I will have recovered for tomorrow. I will of course defend this jersey. There is only one day left so I'll jump on anything that moves and is threatening to me."
