The team will change but the goal will be the same for Alberto Contador. Next year the Spaniard will be riding for Trek - Segafredo with his eyes firmly fixed on the Tour de France.
"The Tour de France is the most important race in the world. It is the race that changes your life when you win. My main goal for 2017 is to win the Tour. If I win, it will be the best time to retire,” he said in an interview with The Telegraph Cycling Podcast.
Contador also expressed his opinion on the route that the riders will face next July, comparing it with that of recent years.
“I like the course. The time trial is not bad for me, especially in comparison to Froome. For the rest I believe that it is a more open route with different tactical options than in the past when a really strong team made it impossible to attack.”
