On the eve of the first big mountain stage, Carlos Betancur finished 23rd in the 7th stage of the Giro , a very long day over 264km.
"I have 267km on my computer," commented Hubert Dupont at the finish. Axel Domont added: "At times, we did not go faster than 25kph."
The riders of the Giro had a very long day on this stage from Grosseto (Tuscany) to Fiuggi (Lazio). Being with the best in the finale, Carlos Betancur was 23rd.
"I felt good. I feel better and better on the bike and I really had a great team around me today. The finale was a bit too flat for me. This is encouraging for the next few days, the form is getting better," he said.
