There’s more France in Team Colombia’s February: over next weekend (February 22-23) the Escarabajos will race the Tour du Haut Var, a short stage race featuring some undulated routes. The event will consist of 2 stages: the second one in particular, with two first-category climbs, could have a huge influence on the final overall classification.
For the French race, Sports Director Oscar Pellicioli will field a combative team led by Fabio Duarte, Miguel Angel Rubiano and Jarlinson Pantano, strong climbers who can be competitive even in small-group sprints, with “El Niño” Edward Diaz, Jonathan Paredes, Rodolfo Torres, Darwin Pantoja and Jeffry Romero rounding out the team line-up.
“The Tour du Haut Var is a short stage race but the routes are perfect at this point of the season”, Oscar Pellicioli explained. – “The objective is to try to get a good result in the GC with Duarte, Pantano or Rubiano, who are quite suited to this kind of routes”.
