Team Colombia-Coldeportes enjoyed a quiet day in Bayern Rundfahrt’s stage 2 (Waldsassen – Selb 179,5 Km), that ended up with a massive sprint won by John Degenkolb (Giant-Alpecin), new overall leader. The German athlete preceded on the finish line Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis) and Enrique Sanz (Movistar).
Leonardo Duque was the best Colombia-Coldeportes rider on the day, 12th, whilst Carlos Quintero moved on the attack with a few kilometers to go, but the attempt was caught by the sprinters’ teams.
“After yesterday’s hard stage, today we endured a quiet day. Starting with tomorrow, we will keep on looking for opportunities with the goal to be protagonists in the finale”, Sports Director Oscar Pellicioli told the Colombia website.
Tomorrow, Friday May 15th, the riders will face 205,9 km from Selb to Ebern, characterized by a tough finale.
