After horrific injuries of Nippo-Vini Fantini rider Daniele Colli’s broken arm were shown on TV, it will come as great news for many people to know the Italian has been released from hospital.
After hitting the camera of a spectator in the sprint finish of stage six, Colli fell and broke his arm, taking down a large chunk of the bunch with him, including GC leader Alberto Contador.
Colli was by far the worst off in the injury but has vowed to fight back and return to racing as soon as possible. He spent five days in hospital recovering from surgery,
He will take action against the spectator, who is reportedly a photography store owner from Castiglione della Pescaia.
