On the eve of the first rest day, the riders faced a 28km team time trial between Vannes and Plumelec. After a first first week with lots of mishaps, Cofidis just wanted to get safely through the stage.
The start was taken at 16:05, the team occupying the 9th place in the teams classification. The stage finished on the Cote de Cadoudal, known for hosting the finish of the GP Plumelec where Julien Simon and Luis Angel Made achieved the double last year. Kenneth Vanbilsen and Geoffrey Soupe ended their work after 8-9km. 5km from the finish, Luis Angel Mate was dropped.
The rest of the team went up the climb to crossthe finish line in 21st place.
Sports director Didier Rous reflected on the stage.
"There was no major goal today, only to make it as easy as possible for Kenneth and Dani [Navarro] who have sore knees. They tried to do the best and they all fought well. We will try to do well in the stage that suit us."
