Cofidis has finalized its roster of 25 riders for next season and again the captain will be Nacer Bouhanni. The French team will stay relatively young and has signed five new riders.
Bouhanni will again be the leader in 2016, after taking 11 victories in 2015 and winning the Europe Tour and the Coupe de France. But he also suffered several crashes in his main objectives, the National Championships, the Tour de France, the Vuelta a Espana and the Worlds.
The team will be built around him and has signed veteran Borut Bozic (Astana) who will be a good lead-out man. His brother Rayane, Jérôme Cousin (Team Europcar), Hugo Hofstetter and Arnold Jeannesson (FDJ) are the other additions.
Jeannesson will joined forces with Daniel Navarro and Luis Angel Maté in the mountains. Other proven winners are Julien Simon and Jonas Ahlstrand.
With its secured sponsorship until 2019, the team has built a roster of young riders because only five will be older than 30 years. Their biggest talents include Rudy Molard (1989), Christophe Laporte (1992), winner of the Tour de Vendée, Anthony Turgis (1994), bronze medalist at the U23 Worlds, Florian Senechal (1993), the French hope for the cobbles who was17th this year in Roubaix after having won the junior race, Hofstetter (1994), third in the U23 Paris-Roubaix and U23 national champion, Loic Chetout (1992), Clement Venturini (1993) and Bouhanni’s brother Rayane who is only 20 years old.
The most significant loss is Adrien Petit who will move to Direct Energie after five seasons.
